Ric's Ride: 80 Mile Great Allegheny Passage Ride (Route Map)

Ride Details - Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019
 
  • Experience the beautiful Great Allegheny Passage trail from Ohiopyle to Pittsburgh!

  • Riders’ gear will be loaded on to coach buses at The Foundry Table & Tap.  Check-in opens at 5:30 a.m.  Buses will depart promptly at 6 a.m. and will transport riders to Wilderness Voyageurs in Ohiopyle.  Breakfast will be provided on the bus thanks to Panera Bread!
 
  • Rest stops will be provided at Cedar Creek Park (Mile 39) and at Boston Ballfield Park (Mile 57).  SAG support will be provided.
 
  • Back at The Foundry, enjoy your boxed lunch provided by Panera Bread! The Post-Ride party will run from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.  We recommend that riders plan to maintain a 12-15 mph pace for this ride.
 
  • Ride recommended for intermediate to advanced level cyclists.

80 Mile Standard Registration Details
  • Adults (Age 18 & older): $50- Transportation to Ohiopyle, breakfast, lunch and parking included!
  • *Vegetarian and vegan options will be available for breakfast, lunch and snacks.
  • All riders receive a moisture-wicking t-shirt, water bottle, tote bag, lunch and two rest stops.
  • $200 fundraising minimum requirement. Your registration fee does not count towards this commitment. For every $50 raised you’ll receive a raffle ticket for the chance to win exciting prizes!  Any rider who raises $321 will receive a 3-2-1 Ride jersey! 100% of rider raised funds go directly to melanoma and pancreatic cancer research, awareness and patient support.
  • Children under 18 will not be permitted on this ride.
  • You must pre-register for this ride.  There will be no event-day registration.  Space is limited.

80 Mile VIP Registration Details
  • Upgrade your 3-2-1 Ride experience and make a maximum impact in the fight to end cancer by registering as a VIP rider!
  • $500 fundraising minimum requirement. Your registration fee does not count towards this commitment. For every $50 raised you’ll receive a raffle ticket for the chance to win exciting prizes! 
  • All VIP riders receive (total value more than $275!):

80 Mile Ride Schedule*

5:30 a.m. - Check-in opens at The Foundry (381 North Shore Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15212)
6 a.m. - Buses depart The Foundry
7:30 a.m. - Buses arrive at Wilderness Voyageurs in Ohiopyle (Rest rooms, coffee cart, mechanical support available on site)
8 a.m. - Ride begins
2 p.m.- Arrival at The Foundry for a rider averaging a 15 MPH pace, allowing 15 min. each at 2 rest stops
3 p.m.- Arrival at The Foundry for a rider averaging a 12 MPH pace, allowing 15 min. each at 2 rest stops

80 Mile/Metric Century Rest Stop Hours*

9 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Rest Stop #1- Cedar Creek Park
10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Rest Stop #2- Boston Ballfield Park
12 p.m. - 4 p.m.: Post-Ride Party at The Foundry Table & Tap

Event will go on rain or shine!  No refunds, please.  If you register and cannot attend, your entry fee will be accepted as a tax-deductible donation.

This ride is named in honor of Ric Fera.  By the young age of 33, Ric was a two-time melanoma survivor.  Since then, he has been dedicated to raising awareness of skin cancer and melanoma and raising crucial funds to support research as co-director of the 3-2-1 Ride and Woiner Foundation.  Ric is an avid cyclist and enjoys mountain biking and road riding every chance he gets.
