This ride is named in memory of AJ (Adam) Smakosz.  AJ passed away in July 2018 from pancreatic cancer at the age of 50. Although AJ lived in many different cities across the US, Pittsburgh was his home and he moved back several years ago. He enjoyed mountain biking, trail riding and snowboarding, and loved spending time with family.  AJ was dedicated to participating in, and spreading the word about the 3-2-1 Ride. His family now continues to ride and fund-raise in his memory.
